A Hearts Refrain
02:26
|
|||
Battles rage just beyond plain sight
Victory revealed under certain light
The weapon to wield to stake its claim
Is not of steel, but a hearts refrain
Burned and beaten in this forge
Tempering the smiter sword
To conquer Man in his vain plan
With this one weapon held in hand
Hello, Man, what's your story
Are you aware the allegory
It's easy to note your history
But what will be your legacy
Who will hold the smiter sword
And with its blade, smite the foe

As It's Been
02:32
|
|||
The answer is simple, concise and absolute
As big as the sky - may be hidden from view
None more grand, this theme of ours
Spent on itself, rented by the hour
A commendable journey: the path to ponder
All the wonder to discover
Take it as it comes, steady as it goes
In accordance to the wave - the ebb & the flow
I'd be damned to deny what is
This thing of laden privilege
Something to suffer; now, as it's been
And the celebration; now, as it's been
The question is awe: the how & the why
Idiom clues offer a guide
Through pixilated shades of grey - black & white
Unveiling these colours at the same time

The Battle
02:15
|
|||
And I walk
- one step ahead, then the next
Through it all
- with each and every step
I carry on
- what else am I supposed to do
To understand
- sometimes it takes the will to
Unveiled in time as time passes by
The comings and goings and things of hindsight
And retrospect ain't worth a dime
To those who seem to never mind
The weight of your heart to the sense of your brain
Is a battle of balance where the victor doesn't gain
And the beaten takes the lead of the other astray
As the battle of balance carries on through the days
The burden of experience is wisdom to mind
Collected & gathered as the valued find
Held as an asset and carried through time
Applied in kind to be utilized

An Existential Stretch
02:17
|
|||
To rent, to own - consider the difference
The state from one another is truly significant
It's the ebb & flow push n pull middle ground of consciousness:
A reflection in the pond to the source of its image
"It's your universe" the wise man said
By definition of perception I think sovereignty was meant
Affirming some authority over one's own life
Empowering the same to capture their time
Your heart, your mind - the brace of the union
A piece of the resolve to the grand question
Sewn in the fabric of the cosmic scheme
As we travel on our own, connected through the journey
- with cautious steps or driven stride

The Breeze
02:32
|
|||
There's a note of something in the air
Like an unfamiliar red
For the sake of its mystery, leave it undefined
And maybe keep it fresh
Something giving to the palate
For the ones who breathe
Profoundly subtle and bright, in kind
It is this airy breeze
Never like this as it's always been
And this hold the good stuff
Impossible to harvest
And, yet, always sought
Full on the have, tip back your glass
You'll never see the bottom
Steady the flow like the soft wind blows
Through the coloured leaves of autumn

Balance
02:30
|
|||
I close my eyes and stare into space
Letting go of what seems lucid, I'm halfway to a dream
Though a veil of dark & colour, I reach for clarity
With every step I carry on
This journey laid before me won't be conquered overnight
What lies beyond the line I keep within' my sight
- Balance in hand - Peace in mind -
Compelling me to carry on this ever shifting...
I put my ear to the ground
And listen for a moment to the underlying sound
That carries the pulse, delivering life
The fire that's needed to...
Ride the drive delivered by this sight
And give myself until this mouth runs dry
And I cannot speak, but only feel
Tears of relief soak my heels
- Hear the sound, can you feel it pound
Travelling on solid ground
Never looking down
Can you hear the sound

Nightcap
02:12
|
|||
Sitting alone with my morning cup
To the sound of waiting, holding this half-empty mug
Stale cigarette air and empty bottles mark the battlefield
- A graveyard of once-living laughter
Without pen or paper a prescription was wrote
Ours ails were subdued, but my cheeks remain sore
And so I sit here with bloodshot eyes
As my nightcap absorbs a stare, my night dies
